I enjoy these times of reflection because it makes me think about who I am as a person, how I portray myself to others, and if the things I am currently doing in my life align with where I want to end up. Self-reflection is not always easy mental and emotional work, but it is always worth it. I believe that it gives more meaning to each day that provides us with a better quality of life overtime. After answering and reviewing all of the questions and responses, here are my thoughts. First, a majority of my responses are things about myself I have heard and seen repeated countless times in my life. They feel like part of me, like my identity. Second, my main goal in life, how I want to be portrayed, and how I want others to view me is positive, happy, and fun. Although I enjoy professionalism and understand that there are times where being more serious is necessary, life should be enjoyable! Being a people-oriented person is also important to me. As humans, we are more likely to achieve greatness together.

Some of the consistencies I noticed that are also strengths I present in the marketplace are being determined, hard-working, proactive, and being an overall caring person. Being determined is an attribute that has not only helped me while studying for two degrees in college, but also excelling at learning and developing other skills in my personal life. By being proactive about where I want to be in the future, whether that’s one month or five years, I am able to keep up with my goals by setting small milestones and taking necessary actions to move forward. Like I mentioned earlier, greatness is better achieved together. When we lift others up, we learn and perform better. This is why I try my best to look out for others and make them feel valued and important.

There is always room for growth and improvement, and I feel like self-analysis is a great place to start. One skill that I am currently working on is being straightforward. This could apply to important conversations, expressing my honest thoughts and opinions, and in my career. Sometimes I am so concerned about others, I tend to beat around the bush or put too much thought into problems I can not solve. This can get in the way of success which is why I have to be vigilant and realistic about situations where decisions need to be made. The last thing I noticed that can be a “silent killer” is not giving myself enough credit for my achievements. Self-doubt is a form of self-sabotage and can diminish confidence when it is not necessary. Regular self-reflection and implementing practices, like visuals for accomplishments in this scenario, will make me stronger moving forward and allow me to identify “gaps” and move forward with a clear plan to fill them.
