What did you learn from this assignment?

• I learned that web design is very detail-oriented. This is a skill that I possess, but lead times are important to properly produce a quality website. I also learned more about technical writing and the backend or running a website.

How will you use this information to secure your job after graduation?

• Yes! It helped me recognize skill and knowledge gaps where I can grow my resume and experience. It is also a great way to set myself apart from others in the market since most people do not take the time to design and consistently update a website about themselves. 

What did you like about this assignment?

• I enjoyed compiling my accomplishments and reflecting on skills I have gained and developed since being in college and earning a degree. I also liked finding a way to showcase my personality. Having a creative outlet made job hunting less stressful and helped me organize my thoughts while also gathering a lot of information.

What would you change about this assignment for future students?

• I would omit the Job Board and HR research assignment. Many companies do not have an HR website that is run by them so it is a mess trying to 1) find a trustworthy HR webpage for the desired company and 2) sifting through facts about the company versus random stranger’s opinions on the company with their limited scope of knowledge.
